This is mostly an informational post, as I just got an update about this.
NIH has implemented updated versions of the federal-wide SF424 (R&R) forms as well as some agency-specific PHS forms for applications with a September 25, 2013, deadline or later. The new forms are referred to as the “Forms-C.”
For those of us lucky to have Coeus implemented at our institutions, they are not yet available for Coeus. We’ve been instructed that submissions that require Forms-C should be currently prepared using the Adobe form sets available for download from Grants.gov. This sucks.
Importantly, new forms are not required, right now (but will be for Feb 2014 submissions), for:
- Research Career Awards (K Series)
- Institutional Training and Career Development Awards
- Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA)
- Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR)
This is a pain in the ass, but these changes happen irregularly at NIH and are just the cost of doing business.
